Sofiat Akinola: It’s Worth Reflecting on the Policy Evidence This Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

Sofiat Akinola, Director of Health Policy and External Affairs at Roche, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“This Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, it’s worth reflecting on the policy evidence. Investing in a comprehensive strategy that includes robust HPV vaccination, screening programs supported by high-performance tests (including innovations such as self-collection), and timely treatment is supported by strong economic and health evidence.

Prevention and early detection save lives and improve the efficiency of health-care spending by reducing reliance on costly late-stage treatment. Education, awareness, access, and prevention remain central to achieving the World Health Organization 90-70-90 targets and keeping countries on the pathway toward cervical cancer elimination.
