Sita Kugel: Honored to Be the Recipient of the Leung Roy Family Endowed Chair

Sita Kugel, Professor, Director of Basic and Translational Research in GI Oncology at Fred Hutch, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“I am deeply honored and truly touched to be the recipient of the Leung Roy Family Endowed Chair. I cannot imagine a more special family to be connected with through this extraordinary honor. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity, your trust, and your support. It is a privilege I will carry with profound gratitude.

Thank you to the leadership at Fred Hutch. The Hutch has been a remarkable place to begin and grow my research program. I am sincerely grateful for your unwavering support, encouragement, and belief in our work. Your commitment has created an environment where discovery can flourish, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of this community.

And to Dr. Rachael Safyan, thank you for being such an extraordinary partner. It has been a privilege to work alongside you to help translate our research discoveries into better treatments for patients. Your expertise, dedication, and collaborative spirit have made this work possible, and I appreciate you more than I can say.

This endowed chair is not only an incredible honor, it is also an investment in the future. It gives me the freedom to ask bold questions, pursue high-risk, high-reward science, and explore innovative ideas that have the potential to transform patient care. I am deeply grateful for this extraordinary vote of confidence, and I will work every day to ensure that this investment makes a meaningful difference for patients and their families.”
