“The time has come for the final post of the series dedicated to bringing under the spotlight main elements from ESCALIER.
The result of a 4 years collaboration between CCI-E and SIOPE, The European Standards of Care for Children and Adolescents with Cancer aims to overcome inequalities and ensure equal access to care and medicine to paediatric oncology patients.
Collaboration between family, school and hospital personnel is essential to ensure that each paediatric oncology patient receives safe care, and benefits from a continuing and flexible educational programme.
To ensure that all childhood cancer patients receive safe care at home, access to adequate information and nursing training should be granted for caregivers.
