International Society of Paediatric Oncology – SIOP shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Children and adolescents who complete cancer treatment need long-term follow-up care to monitor late effects, support their mental health, and ensure the best possible quality of life. Yet many survivors face challenges in accessing this care, depending on where they live, the resources available, and the local health care system.
But across the world, change is happening:
- Establishing dedicated long-term follow-up clinics
- Developing survivorship and transition guidelines
- Integrating international best practices into national cancer plans
Because it’s not over when it’s over.
What step will you take to strengthen access to long-term follow-up care?
