“Digital tools for older adults with cancer are moving out of pilot projects and into routine care, and the first evidence on what works in practice is coming in.
A session at SIOG 2026 on 7 November puts that evidence on the table. Four oral presentations test whether machine learning can predict adverse events in older adults better than the CARG tool, use natural language processing to measure how routinely geriatric assessment is carried out, assess digital symptom monitoring for older adults starting chemotherapy, and evaluate a digital version of the SAOP3 as screening before systemic anti-cancer treatment.
