Frailty can affect treatment tolerance, quality of life, and the support patients need during Cancer Care. It can also be missed when oncology teams do not have a structured way to assess it.
SIOG has contributed to a new expert framework designed to help UK oncology services identify and optimise frailty in patients with cancer, particularly where dedicated frailty services are not available.
The framework offers practical steps for screening, decision-making, and linking patients with local support.”
