“Not every research project moves forward in a straight line.
After completing the SIOG Research Masterclass, Dr Michael Bringuier, Geriatrician at Institut Curie, reworked his study approach after recognising the funding and feasibility challenges ahead. With guidance from faculty mentors, he went back to basics, reshaped the project design, and built a more realistic cohort grounded in clinical experience.
Beyond the project itself, the Masterclass also supported his professional development. Since completing the course, he has taken on the role of Vice-President of the GERICO-DIALOG group, contributing to research in Geriatric Oncology with a focus on de-escalation strategies.
This is what the Masterclass is about. Helping researchers navigate complexity, make informed decisions, and move forward with stronger foundations.
