“What happens after the SIOG Research Masterclass?
For Asst. Prof. Dana Giza, MD, the work did not stop at the end of the course. After presenting her research idea during the 2025 Masterclass, she continued to develop it by integrating the structured feedback received, strengthening both the study design and methodological approach. This led to a full research proposal that has since been submitted for funding.
Beyond the project itself, the Masterclass also fostered lasting connections. One of the faculty mentors has continued to support her work, providing ongoing guidance on study design, manuscripts, and career development.
This is the kind of impact the SIOG Research Masterclass aims to achieve. Not only helping ideas move forward, but supporting researchers as they build rigorous, patient-centred studies and sustained engagement in Geriatric Oncology research.
