The International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Advancing Cancer Care for older adults means more than developing better treatments — it means ensuring that the voices of older adults shape the research, outcomes, and policies that affect them.
That’s the purpose of SPARC (SIOG Patient Advocacy Resources and Communities) — and a cornerstone of SIOG’s mission to build professional capacity, promote equity, and deliver person-centred care worldwide.
Last year in Montreal, we launched the very first SPARC roundtable, uniting patient advocates, clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and industry experts to reimagine what care for older adults should look like.
That landmark discussion led to a published follow-up paper — read it here.
This year in Ghent, we go further:
SPARC Roundtable 2025 – Partnering with Older Adults in Oncology Research: Engagement, Endpoints and Design
We’ll explore how to move from care to outcomes, embedding older adults in research design and redefining success in terms that truly matter — quality of life, independence, and dignity.
The SPARC Roundtable is by invitation only, but we’re opening the session via LinkedIn Live for everyone in Ghent — and around the world — to join the conversation.
Livestream registration opens soon. Stay tuned!
