Women across Ireland are denied access to their personal Breast Density Information as seen on their Breast Screening Mammograms – this is against European Recommendations from Breast Cancer Imaging Experts European Society of Breast Imaging (EUSOBI).
‘Women with high mammographic density have a four to six fold higher breast cancer risk than women with low mammographic density. At the same time, the sensitivity of mammography is seriously impaired in women with high mammographic density, leading to many missed cases.’
8,707 signatures on Petition calling on Jennifer Carroll MacNeill to intervene and ensure that all Women who have Mammograms in Ireland are appropriately notified about their Personal Breast Density.”
