Siobhan Freeney, Founder of Lobular Ireland, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Patient Stories from Ireland ‘Tell Me My Breast Density’
Martha’s mum, Marion went for her routine Breast Screening Mammograms. Her Mammogram letter indicated a Clear result. No one told Marion that she had Dense Breasts.
Marion believed her Mammogram result. Less than one year later Marion was diagnosed with advanced Stage 4 Invasive Breast Cancer.
All Women who have Mammograms in Ireland should be appropriately notified about their Personal Breast Density.
‘If my Mum was still here today, she’d be fighting for this.’ ”
Cynthia Cravo, Advanced BC Patient Advocate, shared this post, adding:
“Marion was a valued member of the Positive Living group. The last time I saw her, after a lovely meeting, she kindly gave me a lift home and we said we would have a coffee together sometime. Not long after, I received the shocking news of her passing.”
