“Today was the second day at the IACR IARC, 2025 IACR Scientific Conference, we heard about the ‘Updates from the International Agency for Research on Cancer Research (IARC) and the Global Initiative for Cancer Registry Development (GICR), By Dr Freddie Bray, Head of Cancer Surveillance.

We also heard from Regional-Level Efforts and Collaboration in Strengthening Cancer Registration and use of Cancer Registry Data for Cancer Control, Dr Sheba Fouad, Non Communicable Disease Surveillance Programme, World Health Organization EMRO.

We attended different sessions from conference delegates. Babongile (Ekurhuleni Population Based Cancer Registry Manager) presented her poster on ‘Modeling Expected Cancer Incidence For the Top 5 Cancers in South Africa 2017-2023.”
