”Some reflections as we close out month four of Future of Cancer Care Today.
Bayli DiVita Dean and Poornima Parameswaran have now helped nearly 200 patients across almost 60 disease areas and 25 countries.
Sarcomas are our largest group, which makes sense given my own osteosarcoma diagnosis, and reflects how often families with rare cancers may struggle to find the right expertise. Breast cancer is second.
We’re seeing families at every point in the journey. Most have already gone through the standard of care for their cancer type and come to us wanting to map out what’s next. For example, they want to assemble their own therapeutic ladder they can plan against instead of scrambling at the next scan.
Also, newly-diagnosed patients are increasingly finding us early. Doing the right tests at diagnosis and preserving tissue during the first biopsy or surgery can surface options that are much harder to recover later.
