Gianluca Franceschini: Joint SICO-ANISC Session Dedicated to Breast Pathology

Gianluca Franceschini, Full Professor of General Surgery and Director of the Master’s Program in Integrated Therapies for Female Oncological Pathologies at Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Joint SICO-ANISC session dedicated to breast pathology. 45th SICO National Congress – Catholic University – Gemelli Polyclinic, Rome.

A beautiful moment of multidisciplinary discussion and sharing, within an event that saw the synergy between SICO (Italian Society of Oncological Surgery) and ANISC (Italian National Association of Breast Surgeons).

It was an honor for me, as Director of the Integrated Breast Center of the Agostino Gemelli University Hospital Foundation IRCCS, to open the work of a joint session, rich in content and participation.

The central theme of the session: “New frontiers in locally advanced breast cancer: rethinking guidelines in the era of precision medicine and artificial intelligence”

A current and complex topic that highlighted the importance of a truly integrated and multidisciplinary approach capable of combining clinical experience, technological innovation and the centrality of the person.

Thanks to those who made this important moment possible:

  • According to Folli, ANISC President for his decisive contribution to the realization of the session.
  • Germana Lissidini and Massimo Dessena, leaders of the SICO udder team
  • Lucio Fortunato, member of the ANISC steering committee
  • Patrizia Frittelli, member of the local organizing committee
  • Alessandra Fabi, for her contribution to the definition of the scientific program of the session

A special thanks to the Presidents of the Congress, Sergio Alfieri and Vincenzo Tondolo, and to the President of SICO, Marcello Deraco, for their trust and support.

A heartfelt thanks to all the moderators, speakers and discussants for the contributions of the highest scientific and professional level:

Oreste Buonomo, Germana Lissidini, Alba Di Leone, Andrea Sibilio, Angela Gurrado, Serena Scomersi, Patrizia Frittelli, Giuliana Giuliani, Alejandro Martin Sanchez, Manuela Roncella, Manuela Sargenti, Gianluca Vanni, Massimo Dessena, Mario Giuliano, Alberto Zambelli, Matteo Ghilli, Marco Bernini, Sabatino D’Archi, Raimondo Di Giacomo, Antonella Grasso, Graziella Marino, Rita Nonnis, Lorenzo Scardina.

A round of applause to Lorenzo Scardina, one of the winners of the “Best Communication Award 2025″.

It was a beautiful choral work, built together with responsibility, passion and shared vision. Let’s continue on this path, together. We cultivate knowledge, collaboration and innovation.”
