Shweta Bansal, Head of Department at Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Childhood cancer is not just about survival.
It’s about what comes after – the life a child is able to live, the dreams they are able to chase, and the milestones families once feared they may never see.
Years ago, I treated a one-year-old child with one of the most aggressive malignancies. At that time, the goal was simple – give him a chance at life.
Today, I received a message from his mother. He has scored 96.7% in his exams.
Pause for a moment and think about that.
From fighting for survival… to thriving.
This is what childhood cancer care truly means. It is not just protocols, chemotherapy, BMT or hospital stays – it is about restoring childhood, rebuilding futures, and giving families their dreams back.
For us, every survivor carries a story that cannot be measured on paper. They thrive and give back to society the most important thing ‘ Hope’ and ‘Belief.’
Moments like these are not just gratifying – they are a reminder that meaningful medicine goes far beyond survival.”
