Shweta Bansal Appointed Chair 2026 of the Asian Histiocytic Disorders Collaborative Group

Shweta Bansal, Head of Department at Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“I am honored to share that I have been invited to serve as Chair (2026) of the Asian Histiocytic Disorders Collaborative Group (AHDCG), alongside an outstanding group of clinicians and researchers across the region.

Histiocytic disorders-such as Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH), HLH, Rosai-Dorfman disease, and related conditions-are rare, heterogeneous, and often under-recognized.

The AHDCG plays an important role in:

• Facilitating regular case-based discussions
• Promoting shared learning and mentorship
• Encouraging regional collaboration and research
• Supporting context-appropriate approaches to diagnosis and treatment

As Chair, I look forward to working with our co-chair, faculty, advisors, and members to strengthen collaboration, encourage new participation, and help develop practical, Asia-specific solutions for histiocytic disorders.

Grateful to the leadership of the group for their trust, and to Frances for her many years of dedicated guidance as she transitions to an advisory role. I am excited for the work ahead.

If you are interested in histiocytic disorders or collaborative learning in rare diseases across Asia, I would be happy to connect.”
