Shubhra Ghosh, Program Director, Global Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“A multidisciplinary delegation from MD Anderson Cancer Center-including Donna Hansel, Lilue Lin, Laurence Court, Chidinma Anakwenze, and Shubhra Ghosh -met with Dr. Kennedy Lishimpi, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health of Zambia, to advance their longstanding collaboration focused on strengthening clinical services and research, and to lay the groundwork for a new collaboration in Pathology.
The meeting was led by Dr. Susan Msadabwe, Head of Cancer Diseases Hospital, and Dr. Aaron Shibemba, Chief Consultant in Pathology, with participation from Dr. Chalwe Kazembe and Mulape Kanduza.
The visit also included follow-up on joint research initiatives in gynecologic oncology (Dr. Lin), cancer epidemiology (Dr. Elizabeth Chiao), and health disparities research (Dr. Qian Lu).
Special thanks to the research team- Mark F. Munsell, Shailbala Singh, Graciela Nogueras Gonzalez, Lenna Dawkins-Moultin and Di Lu as well as our trainees Kamaria Lee and Shae Jansen Aref -for working closely with Zambian colleagues this week to advance ongoing collaborative projects.
