“28 years ago, I was learning how to live after cancer.
Today, I find myself nominated for the 2026 Heroes of Tomorrow: UN SDG Action Awards.
Life has a remarkable way of turning our deepest challenges into our greatest purpose.
When I lost my natural voice to Stage IV vocal cord cancer, I never imagined that one day I would be using a different voice to advocate for survivors, inspire resilience, and help others find hope in difficult moments.
This nomination is not mine alone.
It belongs to every doctor who stood beside me.
Every caregiver who encouraged me.
Every cancer fighter who refused to give up.
And every person who believed that a setback can become a platform for impact.
Whether this journey leads to recognition or not, the mission remains the same:
To be a voice for those who feel unheard.
To remind people that resilience is possible.
And to prove that purpose can be found even in life’s hardest chapters.
Thank you for being part of this journey.”
