Shrenik Shah on My Journey: The Sound of Silence Speaks Volumes After Larynx Removal

Shrenik Shah, Asia Pacific Kindness and Leadership Awardee, Global Influencer, Mentor, and Keynote Speaker, shared a post on LinkedIn:

My Journey: The Sound of Silence Speaks Volumes.

At 44, I was diagnosed with advanced Stage IV vocal cord cancer and underwent a complete larynx removal in 1997, leading to a life of unexpected silence.

Losing my voice felt like a profound existential challenge, but I soon discovered that silence carries its own power.

I chose to embrace my situation and redefine my life by:

– Pioneering innovative voice rehabilitation techniques with bionic technology.

– Cultivating my ‘Metaphorical Voice’ to connect deeply with others.

– Delivering 7 TEDx talks and speaking at prestigious platforms like IIM Ahmedabad and AIIMS, Delhi.

– Demonstrating that a disability can illuminate one’s purpose rather than limit it.

– Inspiring over 100,000 lives globally through 10,000 hours of talks, mentoring, and activism.

– Moderating 51 live webinars to foster community growth.

– Mentoring others through my ‘Life 2.0’ philosophy to navigate adversity.

– Earning 290 global recognitions for resilience and impact.

I’ve learned that purpose is chosen daily, especially when times are tough. In my workshop, I’ll share my journey of losing and rediscovering my voice using my bionic voice to illustrate the limitless potential of the human spirit.

Remember: ‘Cancer can be like a wild stallion; you can choose to ride it or let it ride you.’ By the end of my story, I hope you find new perspectives on your challenges and recognise that your voice can change the world.

‘Life without spoken words may seem silent, yet silence can also ROAR.’
