Shrenik Shah: When Stage IV Laryngeal Cancer Tried to Close One Chapter, I Learned to Write a New One

Shrenik Shah, Patient Ambassador and Moderator of Fridays with Shrenik Live webinar at the Indian Cancer Society, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Seeing myself on the cover of The Ambassador this month made me smile for one simple reason, it represents every stage, every hospital bed, every silent prayer, and every step I’ve taken since losing my voice 29 years ago.

When Stage IV Laryngeal Cancer tried to close one chapter, I learned to write a new one.

I communicate differently today, but I’ve realised something over the years: People don’t remember how loudly you speak. They remember how deeply you make them feel.

And wherever I go, whether it’s a hall of students, a room full of leaders, or a global gathering, I’ve seen silence turn into attention, and attention turn into connection. Sometimes, silence carries more strength than sound ever could.

This cover means a lot to me because my journey continues to find its way into rooms, hearts, and conversations I never imagined.

If my story helps someone believe they can rise again, then every moment of this journey has been worth it.

P.S. – A big thank you to Global Goodwill Ambassadors Foundation (GGAF) for featuring my cover page story. Truly appreciate it.”
