Shrenik Shah, Patient Ambassador and Moderator of Fridays with Shrenik Live webinar at the Indian Cancer Society, shared on LinkedIn:
“The hardest skill I ever learned didn’t come from a classroom. It came from a hospital bed.
There was a time when life stripped away everything I thought defined me, my health, my voice, my career trajectory. Most people would have called it the end of the road. And truthfully, for a while, I thought so too.
But here’s what I discovered: resilience isn’t some mystical trait you’re born with. It’s not about ‘staying strong’ or ‘toughing it out.’
It’s a skill.
A skill you can practice. A muscle you can train.
I learned to:
- Take one small action every day, even when the future looked uncertain.
- Reframe setbacks, not as failures, but as feedback.
- Build routines that gave me control when everything else felt out of control.
- Lean on community when my own strength wasn’t enough.
That’s when I realized resilience is less about bouncing back and more about bouncing forward into a version of yourself you never thought possible.
And that’s the message I carry into every mentorship and training session I do. Because resilience isn’t meant to inspire you for an hour. It’s meant to transform the way you live for life.
If this resonates with you or your team, reach out.
I offer mentorship and hashtag#training sessions on Resilience as a Skillset, and more themes around unstoppable leadership, transformation, and finding your true voice.”
