Shouptik Basu, Consultant Surgical Oncologist at Saroj Gupta Cancer Centre and Research Institute, shared that he was awarded the Third Prize for Best Oral Paper at the SingHealth Peritoneal Oncology Conference held at the National Cancer Centre Singapore.
His presentation focused on research on Cytoreductive Surgery (CRS) and HIPEC, highlighting strategies to improve surgical outcomes for patients with peritoneal surface malignancies.
The session was chaired and judged by leading experts in peritoneal oncology, including Santiago Gonzalez Morano and Kurt Van der Speeten. Dr. Basu was the only researcher from India shortlisted for the presentation and subsequently received the award.
He noted that the recognition underscores the importance of continued research and international collaboration in advancing the safety and effectiveness of complex oncologic procedures.
