Four things we built because the field hadn’t yet.
Today’s collaboration with Dr. Neela Sethi Young, M.D. Dr. Bayo C. and Dr. Shieva Ghofrany, MD reminded me of something: women physicians across specialties, institutions, and generations are already building.
A scrubs brand that actually fits women. A platform connecting patients with doctors who listen. A women’s health education reach of hundreds of thousands.
A nonprofit training the next generation of women physician leaders.
None of it was in any of our job descriptions.
Healthcare leadership across the country has an opportunity: the women physicians in every system are already capable of building what medicine needs next. The question for all of us is whether we’re resourcing them, mentorship, sponsorship, a seat at the table, so they don’t have to build it alone.
