Sharissa Latham, Group Leader in Oncogenic Signalling at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I am deeply honoured to have been awarded a Career Development Fellowship by the Cancer Institute NSW to advance my metastasis-focused research program.
My research focuses on aggressive and treatment-resistant cancers – such as triple-negative breast, high-grade serous ovarian, and rare appendiceal cancers – and targeting the cellular pathways they need to survive and thrive once they spread throughout the body.
By leveraging therapies that are already proven safe for clinical use, I aim to streamline the pathway to clinical translation.
Tackling metastatic relapse is a significant challenge, and I am incredibly grateful to the Cancer Institute NSW for supporting my research vision. A big thank you to my mentors and collaborators at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and UNSW, and of course to the amazing consumer advocates who have supported and enriched my research program.”
