Shane Jacobson: New International Journal for Pediatric Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer

Shane Jacobson, Chief Executive Officer of the American Cancer Society (ACS) and American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Proud to share an important step forward for the American Cancer Society – and for kids, teens, and young adults facing cancer.

This week, we announced the launch of Pediatric, Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer, a new international, multidisciplinary journal focused on advancing research and care for young people with cancer.

Cancers that impact children, adolescents, and young adults are often different and they deserve dedicated attention. This journal is about bringing the right science, ideas, and expertise together so discoveries can move faster and care can keep improving.

I’m especially pleased to welcome Dr. Nirali Shah as the journal’s inaugural editor-in-chief. Her leadership, scientific rigor, and commitment to patients set the tone for what this journal will stand for.

As our fourth ACS journal, this launch reflects how we see our role: convening the cancer community, accelerating progress, and making sure knowledge doesn’t stay on paper, but rather helps people live longer, better lives.

Read more about the new publication.”
