Shaban Juma, Founder and Executive Director at Cancer Fight Tanzania, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Last week, I spent two days in Rome at the International Clinical Research Course by AIOM-Associazione Italiana di Oncologia Medica and American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), focused on improving clinical trials and translating evidence into better patient outcomes.
The course strengthened skills in designing, conducting, and evaluating cancer trials-covering protocols, trial phases, biomarkers, statistics, real-world evidence, patient-reported outcomes, and ethics. As a clinical oncologist and cancer researcher, this training is key to advancing rigorous studies that improve prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, especially in low- and middle-income countries.
Grateful to the faculty, organizers, and colleagues for the insightful discussions and shared commitment to advancing oncology research.
Last but not least, the common sense oncology talk by Bishal Gyawali had me in learning more and join the movement.”
