Rare Neurological Diseases Remain Among the Most Complex and Least Understood – Servier

Servier shared a post on LinkedIn:

“On Rare Disease Day, we stand with the millions of people living with rare neurological conditions – individually rare, but collectively numerous.

In the article below, Nitza Thomasson, Global Head of R and D Neurology at Servier, shares her reflection on why this day matters deeply to all of us working in neuroscience. Rare neurological diseases remain among the most complex and least understood, and around 90% still have no disease‑modifying therapy. Behind every scientific challenge is a person, a family, a story – and they are the reason we keep pushing forward.

At Servier, we have chosen to anchor our R and D in precision medicine and to focus on a limited number of clearly defined priority areas – six clusters of rare neurological diseases – from rare refractory epilepsies and movement disorders to genetically driven autism spectrum disorders.

Read Nitza’s article to learn more about how science, partnership and determination can reshape the future of rare neurology.”
