Seong Chi: Exchanging Ideas on How Goals and Collaborations Can Align to Drive Meaningful Change

Seong Chi, Associate Medical Director, Scientific Advocacy and Professional Societies at AbbVie, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Why does everything in Stockholm taste so good?… Because it’s Sweden’ed!

My standup career came and went with one well-“placed” dad joke.

But the real highlight? In Stockholm before the start of the European Hematology Association (EHA) annual meeting, I had the privilege of connecting with advocacy organizations and patient advocates from around the world – exchanging ideas on how our goals and collaborations can align to drive meaningful change.

The Global Myeloma Action Network (GMAN) is a global coalition of myeloma patient organizations spanning 40+ countries, bringing together patients, caregivers, physicians, key opinion leaders, policymakers, and industry partners – because tackling multiple myeloma takes a village.

While each member organization pursues its own vision and mission, together we work to:

  • Raise global awareness of multiple myeloma
  • Improve access to timely diagnosis and critical medicines
  • Build capacity within our national member organizations

A heartfelt thank you to the team at the International Myeloma Foundation and to S. Serdar Erdogan for his leadership in driving the GMAN efforts forward. And a special thanks to Heather Cooper Ortner, Joseph Mikhael, and Diane Moran for their gracious welcome – it set the tone for truly meaningful conversations.

It’s an honor to support this network. The energy and dedication of advocates worldwide is nothing short of inspiring.

Extra points if you were there and remember what my 4th point was.”
