“The Hallmarks of Cancer Seminar Series
Following our previous successful session, I’m excited to announce that the next seminar in The Hallmarks of Cancer series will feature Dr. Charles Swanton from The Francis Crick Institute on May 8th, 2026.
Dr. Swanton is a pioneer in cancer evolution and precision oncology. His research has significantly advanced our understanding of tumor heterogeneity, disease progression, and therapeutic resistance. He identified branched evolutionary pathways in cancer, demonstrating how distinct subclones can evolve independently and respond differently to treatment. Through the landmark TRACERx study, his team mapped how lung cancers develop, spread, and relapse over time, providing critical insights into patient outcomes, helping inform strategies for early detection and personalized therapy.
The Hallmarks of Cancer seminar series highlights major discoveries inspired by the Hallmarks framework and explores the science shaping the future of oncology. Our past speakers include Dr. Robert Weinberg and Dr. Doug Hanahan, pioneers who helped define the Hallmarks of Cancer. Upcoming speakers include Dr. Titia de Lange, Dr. John Dick, Dr. Tyler Jacks, PhD, and many others.
Seminar Series recordings can be found on YouTube and on the website.
