We are thrilled to congratulate Sebastian Szmit – President of IC-OS Poland and Head of the Department of Cardio-Oncology at the Centre of Postgraduate Medical Education – on his appointment as Professor of Medicine by the President of the Republic of Poland.
This honor reflects decades of dedication to building the field of cardio-oncology, from developing Poland’s first national recommendations on cardiovascular safety in cancer patients, to leading research, education, and policy at the highest levels.
Dr. Szmit has been a driving force not only in Poland but across the global cardio-oncology community – as a Fellow of IC-OS, a member of the European Society of Cardiology Council of Cardio-Oncology, and a champion for the cardiovascular health of cancer patients everywhere.
We couldn’t be more proud to call him a colleague and leader.
