Sarah Nyagabona, Clinical Oncologist at Muhimbili National Hospital and Adjunct Lecturer, Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper she co-authored with colleagues published in JCO Global Oncology:
“I am pleased to share our recently published paper in JCO Global Oncology:
‘Paving the Way for an Integrated Care Model: Experiences of Women Living with HIV and Breast Cancer in Tanzania.’
This study amplifies the voices of women navigating the dual burden of HIV and breast cancer in Tanzania, highlighting lived experiences, care fragmentation, stigma, and opportunities for more integrated, patient-centred models of care.
I extend my sincere thanks to my co-authors, mentors, and collaborators for their thoughtful contributions, and to the women who generously shared their stories to inform more responsive and equitable cancer care.
I hope this work contributes to ongoing conversations around integrating oncology, HIV services, and psychosocial support in low-resource settings, grounded in local realities and patient perspectives.”
