Joseph Ashburn Celebrates Three-Year AML Milestone With 150-Mile Bike Ride to Sarah Cannon Research Institute

Sarah Cannon Research Institute shared on LinkedIn:

“‘I hope that what they see in me is just simply gratitude.

Thank you for all you do. All the call nights that my doctor takes, all the work that the nursing staff does, all the work that the researching staff does…’

Three years ago, Dr. Joseph Ashburn was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and began treatment at Sarah Cannon Research Institute, where he received chemotherapy followed by two years of targeted therapy through a clinical trial.

Now, he’s preparing for a 150-mile bike ride from Kentucky to Nashville for his three-year follow-up appointment, a remarkable milestone that reflects the power of innovative cancer research, dedicated care teams and the patients who help advance the future of cancer treatment.”
