“One of the most thought-provoking presentations at the ASCO Annual Meeting 2026 today addressed the rising incidence of young-onset cancers through the identification of distinct epigenetic fingerprints.
These molecular signatures may provide important clues about early-life and environmental exposures that leave lasting biological marks- the Exposome, potentially contributing to cancer development at younger ages.
While many questions remain unanswered, the concept of an epigenetic fingerprint offers a compelling framework to better understand this growing global phenomenon and may help shape future prevention and early detection strategies.”
