Sandra Turner: 60 Future Doctors Gain a Better Understanding of Radiotherapy

Sandra Turner, Clinical Professor at University of Sydney, shared a post on LinkedIn:

Today we increased the number of future doctors who’ll have a good knowledge of radiotherapy by ~60!

That’s 60 doctors across multiple disciplines, including GPs who’ll help their patients get 5 star cancer care. They can debunk myths about radiotherapy, help people access radiation oncology referrals when needed, explain the tmt process, alleviate concerns and generally care for people with cancer better.

Not only this but our wonderful University of Sydney med students experienced first hand our amazing technology and the dedicated multi-skilled professional radiotherapy team. They now know that at least 1 in 2 people with cancer need radiotherapy for cure and improved quality of life. They know it is one of the most cost-effective treatments out there.

Thanks to our fabulous radiology oncology team at Western Sydney Local Health District for yet another fun day and for your commitment to education. You are the best!”
