Sandra Turner: World Radiotherapy Awareness Day Regional Champions Unite Across 25+ Countries

Sandra Turner, Clinical Professor at University of Sydney, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Over the last 24 hrs we’ve had our first World Radiotherapy Awareness Day Regional Champions meetings.

Thanks to our >40 Regional Champs from >25 countries for their dedication, enthusiasm and inspiration in raising awareness of the life-saving and life-improving power of #radiotherapy for people with cancer.

We heard from co-founder Dr Katie Wakeham about our mission to expand our networks to include patients, survivors and advocacy groups from around the globe to amplify our messages to the community, policy-makers, patients and their families.

From Ummi Umar Musa, Benjamin Ssemata, Jobairul Islam, Marlin K, Lucinda Morris we heard some of the many impactful projects that are building on the back of the WRAD movement.

Please join us by signing up as a supporter at www.radiotherapy.org and start planning your activities or events to recognise September 7th as World RT Day. Let us know what you are doing by registering your events on the website.

Together with One Voice For Radiotherapy we can improve awareness of, and access to radiotherapy for all who need it. In doing so we all can play our part in improving health outcomes for the global population. Wow! Let’s do it!”
