Yeva Margaryan, Managing Editor of CancerWorld Magazine, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“At the European Cancer Summit, Sandra Caldeira , Head of the Disease Prevention Unit at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission , highlighted the fast-moving progress of EU cancer screening guidelines and their growing uptake across Europe and beyond. She pointed to frequent updates, expansion to new cancer types, and the need for stronger national involvement to ensure real impact.

Two key messages stood out:

“In terms of guidelines, just for screening and diagnosis, we now have 80 recommendations and four good practice statements.”

and

“My presence here is also a call for all of you, if you have a say in the guidelines in your country, in your region, reach out to us, because there’s a lot happening.”

With new expert calls ahead and strengthened collaboration with partners like IARC – International Agency for Research on Cancer / World Health Organization and Europa Donna, the momentum behind evidence-based screening across Europe continues to build.”
