Samuel Stevens: A Must-Watch Discussion by Meredith Regan in the Metastatic Breast Cancer Session

Samuel Stevens, Common Sense Oncology Fellow in Cancer Policy at Queen’s University and VMO – Medical Oncologist at NSW Health, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“A must watch discussion by Meredith Regan in the metastatic breast cancer session. No, we can’t declare a ‘new standard of care’ based on exploratory analyses of dubious intermediate endpoints… however there is clearly a need for useful intermediate endpoints as we try and get the balance of speed and certainty right.

Catch up Meredith’s great discussion online to learn about some potential solutions: time to first subsequent treatment (TFST) or time to second subsequent treatment (TSST) are clearer, but these too require rigorous validation on an individual patient level.”
