“Another Rural Oncology Conference in the books!
Our second annual conference just wrapped up in Minneapolis, MN. The Rural Cancer Institute has done a fantastic job growing this conference into a space where oncology providers, patient advocates, and industry experts can tackle the big issues facing the rural oncology field. My thanks to the talented members of the Rural Cancer Institute who made this event possible, including Wade Swenson, Zachary Schroeder, Sahil Prakash, Ingrid J., Abigail Swenson, Anika Eldien, Rhea Sharma, Taylor M. DeVine, Ruiling Yuan, MD, Jasmine Kamboj, Joshua Pritchett, and An Nguyen, among many others.
A special thanks also goes out to RCI Director Caroline Schroeder (Holgerson) who truly made this event possible.
I was also excited to once again present a poster at this year’s conference. Thank you to Aquino Williams, and his mentorship as we surveyed rural medicine providers and attempted to identify the various aptitudes, barriers, and motivators surrounding the field.
Planning for the 2027 Rural Oncology Conference is already underway — we hope to see everyone next year from April 29th – May 1st, 2027 in Chapel Hill, NC!”
