Sami Mansfield, Founder, Oncology Exercise and Lifestyle Medicine Consultant, Operations and Implementation Expert, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The health care system isn’t built for how we actually live with cancer.
I spent 2025 as an Elevate Ambassador for Cancer Nation and the thing that stuck with me wasn’t a framework or a webinar. It was the room. Survivors, caregivers, clinicians — people who’d normally never sit at the same table — all working the same problem from different angles. That diversity wasn’t a nice-to-have. It was the whole engine. You can’t fix what’s missing in cancer care if everyone in the room sees it from the same seat.
That work is now the Cancer Nation Leadership Academy, and it’s looking for its next ambassadors.
Here’s who it’s for: people who want to disrupt and keep their ear to the ground. Not burn-it-down energy — change that’s earned, that respects the medicine and goes after the gaps around it. Ambassadors propose and lead a real project in their community or care setting, get training in advocacy, policy, and systems change, in-person sessions in DC, and a national network that has your back.
If you’ve been waiting for permission to lead this kind of change — this is the structure to do it inside, with people who’ll push you and catch you.
If that’s you, two minutes well spent: Meet the ambassadors and their projects: here.
We’re building a Cure for Care.
Come build it with us.”
