Sameer Rehman, Cardiothoracic & Interventional Radiologist at Desert Radiology, Director of Imaging Quality at Valley Health System, Director of Tumor Ablation Program at VHS; National Advisory Board for Radiology Partners, shared about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, adding:
“This study reports the largest single instituition cohort for lung cryoablation outcomes for stage 1A non-small cell lung cancer.
The 3 year local tumor control achived by minimally invasive lung cryoablation procedure was 89.6% in a cohort of 176 patients. The 3 year survival outcomes (OS 94.7% and LPFS 89.4%) were comparable to surgery, SBRT and other ablative approaches.
