Samantha Siegel: High-Impact Learnings from Blood Cancer United in San Francisco

Samantha Siegel, Director of Cancer Survivorship at The Permanente Medical Group, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Blood Cancer United

A great conference today in SF. Some high impact learnings:

1) The integrative oncology movement is growing! Things you can do even without an integrative oncology specialist:
-optimize sleep, nutrition and movement
-acupuncture is safe and effective

2) It’s always a good idea to get second opinions, even if you have an early stage blood cancer with a good prognosis. The science is changing so rapidly there may be an opportunity for a newer regimen with less toxicity and long term effects while also achieving durable remission.

3) Blood cancer survivors are amazing. Some of my best teachers are other survivors.

Thank you for a beautiful day.”
