“Following Personal Legends
Today was complete magic-the second biennual TPMG-Division of Research Cancer Symposium.
Carrying my Patient Story cup of coffee, I was centering before the meeting, remembering that my story is just one thread in the fabric of cancer survivorship and onco-primary care. My story is not unique in the cancer survivor space, but I am uniquely positioned to share it. In doing so, I carry countless stories in my heart from other survivors in the community and from those who have passed.
Clinicians, executives and researchers were excited and enthusiastic about spreading our PCP-ONC CARES model! This model is a system created by the users, with care coordination, navigation and longitudinal relationships front and center.
Lucky, privileged, honored, driven… doesn’t even begin to describe what I felt today.
Shifting the focus from mortality to Vitality.”
