Salvatore La Rosa, Chief Scientific Officer at the Kidney Cancer Association, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Today is World Kidney Cancer Day
As we look at the landscape of kidney cancer today, the path forward is clear: accelerating high-impact, transformative research is our most powerful tool to change the trajectory of this disease.
At the Kidney Cancer Association, our role is to serve as a vital engine of support. We don’t conduct the laboratory research ourselves; instead, we fund the pioneering scientists and critical initiatives that redefine care-from uncovering novel early detection biomarkers to deeply understanding the complex mechanics of tumor biology.
Thanks to an incredible community, we recently doubled our KCA Challenge fundraising goal, raising nearly $160,000. Every dollar acts as a direct catalyst, allowing us to fund and fuel the translation of promising bench science into impactful clinical solutions.
I am deeply honored to work alongside world-class leaders, dedicated advocates, collaborative partners, and generous donors every day. We share an unwavering passion to support scientific breakthroughs, drive better outcomes, and ultimately find a cure for kidney cancer.
The scientific progress we champion today is the foundation for a healthier tomorrow. Let’s keep pushing the support for science forward. ”
