Salman Fazal: Presenting Telomerase Inhibition in Myeloproliferative Neoplasms at the 2026 MPN Workshop of the Carolinas

Salman Fazal, Hematology Lead at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, shared on LinkedIn:

“It was a privilege to present ‘Telomerase Inhibition in MPNs’ at the 2026 MPN Workshop of the Carolinas and to participate in an outstanding weekend dedicated to advancing the care of patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms.

The breadth of the program was exceptional, with sessions spanning disease modification, inflammation and clonal biology, driver mutations and emerging pathways, ET and PV, prefibrotic and advanced-phase MPNs, systemic mastocytosis, anemia in myelofibrosis, JAK inhibitors, stem cell transplantation, symptom burden, and novel targeted therapies.

Beyond the science, I especially enjoyed reconnecting with colleagues, exchanging ideas, and learning from so many outstanding experts in the MPN field.

My sincere thanks to the organizing committee for the kind invitation and the opportunity to be part of this exceptional meeting.

Special thanks to our Course Directors Ruben Mesa, MD, Naveen Pemmaraju, MD, and Rupali R. Bhave, MD, Co-Course Directors Alexander R. Coltoff, MD, Michael Grunwald, Brandi Reeves, MD, Lindsay Rein MD, and Kelly Weaver, NP for putting together such a thoughtful and engaging program

Grateful for the opportunity to contribute, collaborate, and learn.

Thanks, Gina Barnard, for all the help!”
