(And I don’t mean the diagnosis part…)
We began with a session on self-care:
An invitation to be present now.
With reminders that the past is behind us.
And that none of us knows what the future holds.
So let’s make the most of today.
It doesn’t take a diagnosis to live like this.
(I hope you never have one!)
But life hands all of us hard stages,
Moments like diagnoses that divide life into before and after. Situations we think we’ll never embrace.
I did everything to avoid this diagnosis and, initially, it evoked too much fear in me to let myself enter spaces like this: Hundreds of Stage IV thrivers
Fast forward several years, and this feels like home.
Sharing it here for whatever life stage, season, or moment this finds you – an invitation to try to be ‘here’ now, wherever here is for you.
And to celebrate when the ‘here’ of today is a space you never thought could feel comfortable.
