Ruzanna Papyan, Chief of Pediatric Oncology Department at PCBDC of Armenia, Clinical Research Physician at Immune Oncology Research Institute, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“After several years of clinical work, research, and more questions than answers, I defended my PhD yesterday.
The work focused on musculoskeletal sarcomas in children and AYAs in Armenia – a topic that is as complex clinically as it is challenging within our healthcare system. It reflects not just data, but real patients, real challenges, and the constant effort to do better in our setting.
Deeply grateful to my mentor, Gevorg Tamamyan, whose guidance shaped both this work and my path as a pediatric oncologist. Thank you for being not only my role model, but for an entire generation of pediatric oncologists in Armenia.
I also want to thank my international mentors and collaborators, Heribert Juergens and Prof. Dr. Eva Wardelmann, for their support, expertise, and trust throughout this journey.
And of course, my team and colleagues/friends —this was never a solo effort.
This is a milestone, but not an endpoint. And as my mentor often reminds me, the best is yet to come.”
