“We care for our patients as we would our own family.

So proud of our Self Regional Healthcare family!

What an exciting milestone as we continue building and expanding our Comprehensive Breast Center!

A special shout-out to my dear friend, Joanna Metzner-Sadurski. So grateful for your inspiring leadership, vision, and tireless dedication to our patients and community. What a privilege and joy to work alongside you for the past 11 years!

Heartfelt thanks to our CEO Matthew Logan, and our entire leadership team for their continued support and commitment to bringing the best cancer care to our community.

Special gratitude to the Davis family for their extraordinary $1 million gift, and to all our generous donors and community supporters! Your generosity and belief in our mission help turn our vision into reality and make a lasting difference in the lives of our patients and families.

Together, we continue to dream big, advocate for our patients, and expand comprehensive cancer services so our patients can receive the best possible care close to home, surrounded by their families and communities.

So grateful to be part of this amazing team! The best is yet to come!”

Quoting Joanna Metzner-Sadurski’s post:

“Self Regional Healthcare

The energy in the room at our MadameCurieSociety gathering was incredible. We kicked off the Comprehensive Breast Center initiative at Self Regional Healthcare by announcing a $1 million gift from the Davis family. I’m deeply grateful for their generosity and for all the donors who show up for our hospital and the people we care for across the Lakelands.

I think about the woman waiting for answers after an abnormal mammogram. We want her to know whom to call, what comes next, and who will be there with her. Our goal is to make screening easier to access, help women get answers sooner, and give every woman diagnosed with breast cancer a team to guide her through treatment and connect her with support in survivorship.

Thank you to Dr. Poorak, Dr. Amemasor, Dr. Culpepper, and Dr. Wood for a wonderful panel discussion. And I loved the cake modeled after our old hospital! It made me think about how much we’ve grown with this community. I’m proud that Self Regional Medical Center was one of just three hospitals in South Carolina to earn Forbes’ highest overall rating of five stars in 2026.

I’m thankful for our Matthew Logan, and his belief that patients deserve the best care we can give them, regardless of their ZIP code. And I’m grateful to Ruiling Yuan, who joined me 11 years ago and has been thinking big with me ever since – always advocating for patients. They know her well in Washington.

With this community behind us, I’m excited to build the center and pursue recognition as a Breast Cancer Center of Excellence in 2027.”
