Ruiling Yuan: Community Oncology Is About Being Part of the Community We Serve

Ruiling Yuan, Adjunct Assistant Professor at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, shared Joanna Metzner-Sadurski‘s post on LinkedIn, adding:

“Trust in cancer care begins long before patients walk into our clinics. It begins when we show up in their communities.

When physicians step outside the clinic and connect with people where they live, worship, and gather, we build trust and create powerful opportunities to promote cancer prevention, screening, and risk reduction.

Truly honored to represent Self Regional Healthcare Cancer Center, alongside my wonderful colleague Joanna Metzner-Sadurski, at Laurel Hill Baptist Church today, sharing the importance of breast cancer awareness, early detection, and healthy living.

Thank you, Rev. Richards, for the warm welcome and the opportunity to connect with your congregation!

Community oncology is not just about treating cancer. It is about being part of the community we serve.

Proud to be part of Self Regional Healthcare and South Carolina Oncology Society (SCOS), working together to bring quality cancer care, education, and prevention closer to our communities.”

Joanna Metzner-Sadurski, Assistant Professor at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, Founder and Executive Director of Oncology101.org, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Community engagement at Laurel Hill Baptist Church in Waterloo, SC.

Ruiling Yuan and I were honored to speak to the congregation about breast cancer awareness, the importance of screening, prevention, and healthy lifestyle.

Thank you to Rev. Richards for a wonderful service and a powerful message on forgiveness. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect faith, health, and community.

Early detection saves lives. Prevention matters. Community makes us stronger.”
