“I still remember my first day rotating in the dysproteinemia lab at Mayo Clinic as a Heme-Onc fellow, the legendary Bob Kyle stopped what he was doing to personally show me how to read an SPEP and regale me with stories of challenging cases from his storied career.
Today I, and generations of hematologists, patients, and legions of colleagues across Mayo Clinic mourn the passing of Dr Robert Kyle. He was truly the best of us. A humble scholar, infectious enthusiasm for advancing medicine, a career of extraordinary impact driven by curiosity and imbued with deep humility, the very definition of a servant leader, gentleman clinician, and a mentor to generations.
