“Kids v Cancer will be at the AACR pediatric cancer conference in Philadelphia this week (Sept 22-25). This is where the science and the policy have to meet. The researchers in those rooms will be presenting on pediatric advances including immunotherapy, tumor cell biology, and metabolism.
Our job is making sure the regulatory pathways – pediatric study plans, written requests, priority review vouchers – actually get those discoveries tested in kids and onto a label. Too often they don’t, even after the science is there.
